Making pottery by hand is a therapeutic activity. Any craft making, which requires us to switch off from external noise, tends to bring calm and joy in us while forcing us to remain focused on the task at hand.
My pottery workshops for adults are centred around not only sharing skills, but to gently coax a learner to bring out their creativity in a tranquil environment. In this workshop, I will teach basic processes of hand building in clay. I will be teaching pinching, coiling, slab work -basically share hand building techniques in pottery to learners so they have the confidence to continue practising pottery indepedently . The central idea being- we do not need to have a fully equipped studio to start our pottery journey. All we need is skills and our will.
Hence the idea of – Start where you are! To begin for the love of handcrafting and nurturing your soul.
